M.A. in Theological Leadership

Information and Application

The M.A. degree is offered  in partnership with ACTS Academy of Higher Education, which is affiliated and validated by the International Council for Higher Education (ICHE), Switzerland.  Other institutions presently offering ICHE degrees include:

 

·         Azusa Pacific University, California, USA

·         Bethany International University, Singapore

·         ACTS Academy/ William Cary University

·         South African Theological Seminary, Johannesburg

·         Nigeria Baptist Theological Seminary, Lagos, Nigeria, and others around the world

 

The M.A. programme is specifically offered to those with a B.A. degree in theology or equivalent qualifications. Those who require  theological bridging courses for entry into the programme will be offered special workshops  to run simultaneously at a minimal cost.

The duration of the M.A degree will be one year and delivered distance-learning via ZOOM.  Delivered in three semesters with three major subjects in each semester.  Each subject will be delivered in ten online sessions.  Classes will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm. Each sessions will be delivered by a qualified and experienced scholar.

 

Semester 1 

• Survey of Philosophy (Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Kant, and others)

• Biblical Theology I (Theology of the Old Testament)

• Seminar on Research and Writing Papers and Theses (10 sessions)

Semester 2 

• Understanding of Society and Social-Structural Analysis

• Biblical Theology II (Theology of the New Testament)

• Christian Missionary Movements/Global Missions (Evangelical, Pentecostal, Charismatic, and others)

Semester 3 

• Systematic Theology and Emerging Christian Theologies (Women's Theology, Caribbean Theology, Liberation Theology, and others)

• Theological Leadership I (Ethical and Moral Response to Contemporary Issues and Concerns such as Race Relations, Poverty Inequalities, Environmental and Climate Change, Artificial Intelligence, etc.)

• Theological Leadership II (Compassionate caregiving and Counselling)
